Depends what its for. If it is jewellery you are talking about then it has to be gold there is no room for debate.
Apart from being much more intrinsically valuable, it does not tarnish like silver.
By the way, if this is a colour question, then gold jewellery is commonly available in a variety of colours depending upon which other metals it is alloyed with. Only 24kt gold has to be yellow and would not be suitable for jewellery anyhow.

Silver, white gold, platinum. I think men look like train robbers, and women look like barmaids in yellow gold, and they all seem to wear a load of it, thinking it makes them look rich I expect.
