I have decided to go barefoot all day before we get ready for halloween since a cave woman should have dirty feet right? We will be outside at a party and I think that would set the costume off!!! The finishing touch what do you all think?

There's no *need* to go barefoot all day either; as someone else pointed out, just dusting your feet in the sand will do. And probably be more authentic-looking since when I'm out all day in nature my feet get more of that dusty-grey look rather than the darker soles you get from city streets. There wasn't any pavement & traffic pollution around back then; their dirty feet would've been the natural, dusty outdoors type.

Now if you like going barefoot, enjoy yourself -no need to find an excuse like Halloween. :-) See the url in the source for a mailing list of many of us who like to go barefoot either always or at least quite regularly.

You don't have to go barefoot all day, 30 seconds of sliding your feet around in the sand at the park will make your feet a nice dusty cocoa color. This way they will look dirty but not sticky gross bar floor grimmey.

How about if you get some of those furry bedroom slippers to wear? After all, if you have a pelt to wear for a garment, it isn't too much of a stretch to say you whipped up these furry slippers while you were making your "dress." After all necessity is the mother of invention. If the other cave people see your "feet coverings," they will want some too. Start a trend!

Yea kinda gross, they could also end up stinking. and no one wants dirty feet in their car. Also what happenes if the party migrates indoors. Then the cave woman is stuck out in the elements

Dirty bare feet are always a big asset to costumes... Sorry, I just can't say that I'd like it.

maybe you could just glue some hair to the tops of some socks, won't you be cold? I am in Southern California and it is cold here, where could you be that it won't be cold outside?
