I am asking this in regards to all wars. To me, it seems
a little simplistic.

Delphi: I don't think anyone (sane) wants
a war...but sometimes it is unavoidable.
For example, do you let people live in
slavery or do you try to stop it?

Absolutely not.
War won America its independence, ended slavery in this country, and ended the Holocaust.
War may not be the best answer, but sometimes it's the only answer.

Yes I believe war is never the answer. Just because it is what I believe, I have no expectation that others would or should believe the same. It is my hope and prayer that somewhere in the existence of humanity we will be able to experience living in peaceful coexistence. Though it may seem simplistic to you doesn't make it so. If as much effort were put forth in making peace instead of war...well who knows what could transpire.

No, I agree that nothing ever fits everything.
Besides, sometimes, war is the only answer.
"Peace is not the absence of war, but the tranquility of order"

It's never a good answer, but sometimes it is the only answer. Some things are worth fighting for.

I wish I could say yes to that slogan. I WANT to say yes.
However, humans are not moral animals, despite our rhetoric to the contrary.
Sometimes, was is the only answer.

there are many bad ways to handle situations that are effective. war is effective in ending disputes. that does not mean that it is an "answer" to anything, or ever justifiable.
