Erm... how do you figure that the oil trade and the diamond trade are in the hands of terrorists?
Oil is largely in the hands of OPEC. Of course, there is no denying that some opec countries are sympathetic to those with anti-western attitudes. However, this can hardly be construed as terrorists controlling the oil industry. It is important to note that terrorists would have controlled the oil industry if Saddam had succeeded in Kuwait. Keeping that from happening was on of the primary motivators for the current Iraq conflict.
As for diamonds. the industry is controlled by a primarily Jewish cartel.

True, as far as it goes. But, it is not just heroin; perhaps we can trade some marijuana for the cocaine and heroin? Diamonds come mainly from South Africa; they are not terrorists; only 10% of the oil we use comes from the Middle East, so it is negligible. If Americans would quit wasting resources, we could stop importing from Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Arabs.
We don't need them, but they do need us! (For the time being.)
So, basically it is American greed and wastefullness that feeds terrorism; it is American inability to stand up against terrorism that keeps them coming. America has lost its will to defend itself; too many aliens (legal as well as illegal) living here!

Legalize the drug trade. Philip Morris will out cart the cartel and out tally the Taliban putting them both out of business. Then we can tax them like crazy and sue them in Florida.
Buy your girlfriend a cubic zirconium engagement ring.
Use the money you made on taxes and lawsuits and saved on engagement rings to build nuclear power plants. Get electric cars and hybrids and shut down all the oil based power plants.

Can't win the war on terror when there is terror in your own country. It may not be as extreme as what happens in the middle east, but still there are people in our own country who do commit such awful acts, and yet somehow figure with a war we can solve problems for another country. I wish President Bush would just spend more time on his own country. He might believe he is making America safe, but he is so caught up in the war in Iraq so much here on the homeland is overlooked.

Tough to argue with that (although I'm sure plenty of dumb hillbilly patriots will!). The war on terror is a publicity stunt and another government method for keeping the public scared and submissive.

Well lets just sit back and wait for another building or two filled with people in our country to be destroyed! We went about it all wrong! we should have nuked the entire region, and turned it into the worlds largest airport or parking lot!

it is true indeed. We provide the $ for the terrorists. When we as a country begin to face this, we might have a chance to do something about it
