I don't know why you would want too . If its a way to bring him under your control . I can tell you its just going to put more distance between you . Probably make him rebel and resist more so .I know it can be hard being a parent and you feel you are doing it for his own good .But you cant enslave kids into your will or anyway not for long .I think you would be better off trying to see him not as a parent being so judgmental and controlling but as a friend .He is going through a hard age not being an adult and not being a kid .He could use a friend that he can talk to and you would be able to help him more as a friend he could talk to without being punished and getting mad .Kids are going to do what they want and if he cant have the benefit of your age and wisdom to consider without being punished. He will make wrong decisions .Him not being able to talk to you many times our suspicions and imagination of what we think they are doing is exaggerated by not really knowing.Try being straight up and honest with him and try to remember when you were his age

Depends on what this 14 year old juvenile did. If he has a string of felonies he will get his court ordered treatment in a Reform school, ie, juvenile prison.

so, your kid is out of control and you want the court to do your job for you? Take some parenting classes, practice a little tough love.

Did he break the law and is he being brought up on charges?
Then yes. If no, then it is very tough to get the courts to help until after the crime occurs and you are held liable for his behavior.
Yes, it is a catch 22. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
