(This is not my idea I wish it was. I got it from my brother) :)

ok there will always be rich and poor but..

What if being rich did not give you more political power in society? If being rich meant just that but you did not have special power that the rest of the people in society did not have to select leaders and decide on policy?

How would that change the society?

Is this possible?

Is this something that you would want to have happen?

and...

Is this crazy radical or what? ;)

I think the rich will always out bid the poor! I feel that the political war chest ,must be limited on spending or buying political office. I think if a candidate has a large political following, the government contributes through taxpayer deductions that each office seekers have the same amount of funds to get a equal shot at being elected. A limit must be mandated on political contributions, maybe contributions be made directly to the political party , not the candidate and the party disburse the fund to needy Campaigns The present system, allows those with the most funds to buy a political position. That result in not having the best person in office!!

The only way you that could work is by setting a max limit that a person could donate to a political campaign and any special interest group. Then you have the argument about freedom of speech for refusing them the right to support whoever they want.

The only way it could work was if politicians got paid millions of dollars to do there job. That way they could not be bought. I think people would be very upset if a congressman was getting paid as much as pro-baseball players.

No matter how rich or poor you are, you still only get one vote. It's the politicians taking the bribes and cutting deals that screw up the situation.

The Framers of The Constitution had it right---------you get elected and serve, then go back home to continue your life. Being an elected government offical should not be a career.
