ok...on my b-day i am positive that i will get a laptop. but well where do i start. here are some of the requirements that i need.
i know about the dell inspiron 1721 but it has a number pad and it just looks weird with it. so heres the req.:
1. 17'' inch
2. not a macbook
3.have windows vista home premium
4. cannot be more than $950
5.has a option for password lock.
6.have a dvd player,cd burner,and is able to play cds.

no laptop to a child of that age. they are too young for the responsibity of taking care of it and too much temptation to get in sites which are harmful to children they need to be monitored by the parents. they can use the home computer and watched. no matter how grown up they seem.

what do you mean by a password lock? like make it to where you have to have a pw to have it boot? 99% of all pc's have that option. here is a few links to some pc's under 950...
