Im just wondering I never really thought about it...

well actually its not a perfect sphere, and it just is, the fact that it is is only one of the reasons it can hold life because the rotation of it brings the four seasons, day and night, think about it, there has to be a greater power governing all this, I really don't believe that we are here by chance at all.


Keep thinking this is how we gain knowledge and knowledge is the key to spiritual freedom.

Same reason a bubble is round. It's the only shape that comes from an equal amount of pressure being exerted on all sides. In the case of the Earth it's centrifugal force instead of air pressure.

It's actually an oblong spheroid. When all the material of the earth congregated together during the formation of the planet, it settled round because of gravity. Gravity wouldn't allow segments to be protruding awkwardly, but would pull all the material together. When it hardened (it was molten), it left us with a "round" planet. It's oblong because it it bows out at the equator where the spin of the planet causes it to push out.

Equalateral forces in all outward directions due to graitational forces due to celestial formations cause the Eath to be round.
