These programs are a scam. They scan your PC and then want you to purchase their software to do the cleanup. To clear away cookies, history and so on use CCleaner.

It is best to clean your files by using the tools in your system. Go to all programs and choose accessories. Look for disk clean up and it will choose the files not needed and then you click to remove them. I always choose De-fragment after this and let it analyze whether or not it is needed at this time. I have been very diligent at doing this weekly. Try it. Hope you know what I mean and if I can be of further help, let me know. Good luck.

Cookies are benign. They are simply files left by the web sites you visit. They record your last activity at the site to help make the site more user-friendly. For example, if you go to the UPS site and enter your zip code, it's stored in a cookie so you won't have to enter it again.

Only Congressmen are worried about cookies....
