How often do you vaccum? What factors are involved (children, pets, shoes in the home)?

Depends on the area! The most frequently used room, I vacuum every morning -- takes about 5 minutes, max. But I have two cats, two kids who eat popcorn in front of the TV, a husband who munches pretzels while at the computer, and a blonde long-hair dog. If I let it go a day or so, I start getting clumps of fur and crumbs. Things like stairs, the upstairs hall, bedrooms, once a week.

ONCE A WEEK. I try to keep my carpet spotless. I have a show dog and I don't like lint or other pieces of leaves brought on the carpet. All dogs walk around and graze for bits of food and living in the desert we get a lot of dust. and causes allergies to us and pets.

I've got 2 young kids, 2 dogs (a corgi and a husky), my husband, my roomate and myself.

We NEVER wear our shoes on the carpets.

I vaccum everyday.

I usually vacuum twice a day. Biggest reason is two cats (whom I'm very allergic to and I also have asthma) and the kitty litter that gets trapped between their little toes and subsequently trailed all the way to the front door. They are hubby's babies and so I tolerate them. *L* Must be love....to do all that cleaning! *L*
