Whatever your political affiliation , if you're observant and have the ability to think logically , then you should know by now that if Iran doesn't capitulate , we will hit them .
If you found yourself disagreeing already , then please move on to another question . We will hit Iran if they don't comply , and it will come during this administration .
Now the following is conjecture , but pretty logical conjecture and worth taking the time to think about and plan for . If / When we hit Iran , I think it's pretty safe to assume that they , Iran and their Terrorist minions will hit us in our own homeland . Yet I see nobody on these boards discussing what we'll do TOGETHER to help our neighbors should an attack befall our own city .
I like arguing with the libs out there , but there's also the matter of patriotism , helping a neighbor , a fellow countryman regardless of politics .
What Can You Do To Get People Thinking And 'Seeing' What May Be The Inevitable ?

Personally, I'm fairly certain that your conjecture is based on a faulty premise- but you're absolutely right, in that it's always wiser to plan for the worst. The images of the Katrina victims in the Thunderdome actually started me thinking about that. Whether it's a terrorist attack, a natural disaster, a gnarly contagious disease, or a city-wide fire, or something completely unforseen, things occasionally get really bad and it's a good idea to have a rough plan in case of emergency. My friends and I sat down one day, and worked out a rough route if we had to evacuate Los Angeles, with rendezvous points to wait for stragglers or leave messages for them. Hopefully it's a plan we never have to use, but it's nice to have just in case.

People will only see and hear what they want to. It doesn't matter how many times you tell or show them, if they don't want to believe they won't.
Here's what I predict will happen if this administration "hits Iran":
1. There will be an initial surge in volunteers for our military.
2. All reserves will be called in to action.
3. Gas prices will soar to costs that we have yet to experience.
4. A draft will start.
5. This country will be attacked, most likely on the East coast.
6. Our country will be in a panic yet known to us.
7. There will be a massive world war, and many, many, many people will die.
All of this will band everyone together, with a few disagreeing with the War. That's when everyone will agree. After a couple of years, we will have the same discussions we are having now. One side feels attacking was right, and the other side thinking it was wrong. And we will be right back to square one.

When the stuff hits the fan and it will Americans will hang together and do what is right in the short term.
As demonstrated on 9/11 for a brief moment we are were all on the same side.
My prayer is that it doesn't take another terrorist attack before we know this war is real.
This is a different game now and it is by no accident we haven't had a terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11.
We know they are trying as shown by the Ft Dix plot that got stop by the citzens.
I just hope it doesn't take a nuke going off in NYC to get this nation's collective head in the game.

The situation in IRAN is completely different from IRAQ. In Iran, the military targets are spread out; in Iran, they were mostly in one or two areas. With Iraq, the world of Arabs did not believe that the U.S. would attack; they felt that, because of public opinion, the U.S. would be too chicken to do so. Iran now has seen us in action; they will be ready.
I remember when the Allatollah Khohemini was ousted and fled to France. These people have been warring with each other for thousands of years; whatever we do will not stop that.
I agree that people should be prepared (there are ALWAYS disasters, if people merely read the news) and should help each other, not wait for Washington WWDC to send aid, but help each other.

Ok...where will the troops be pulled from Iraq or Afghanistan to attack Iran.
Also what is the point of asking a question on Yahoo if you don't want people to answer your question whether they disagree with you or not.
Edit: Since you are thinking so logically, who do you think will defend Iran first when the U.S. attacks Russia or China?
Seems like a draft will soon be in order by your logic.
Edit: Earnest, how the hell do you know that we won't be using ground troops? Are sitting in on meetings at the Pentagon?
Edit: Earnest, I am not a Con or a Lib, however I do know when you are ranting and puting your question in the very last line, to get people to not answer your question correctly and then asking a question as your very last line. I also find it odd, that as a conservative that you believe that the war in Iraq is not stopping terrorism because you believe that Iran is going to hit our homeland.
Edit: Let me ask you a question, if we attack Iran before they get a chance to get us, what then. Did we stop terrorism or will Al-KDUH still be running around?
Also what are the people that are running out intelligence saying about Iran, are they letting us know they are getting ready to attack the U.S?

During Desert Storm, Iraq's Jet fighters and other valuable
hard ware, were hidden from sight in some harden bunker as they called it. Advanced equipment aboard our fighters could easily locate them, then F 117 strikers would drop a bomb famous as Bunker Busters, laser guided it reached the target but it didn't explode yet, the tip was a drill type device that would penetrate in to the concrete about 5 or 6 feet , then exploded and destroyed the entire bunker and it's content.
Now Iran has learned their lesson, any type of bunker or Their nuclear research facilities are built well and deep , and very very well protected, Air strike with conventional weapons, likely results failure. which leaves two other options, that are attack by ground forces, fighting their way inside Iran's soil and moving north from Persian gulf, west if from Afghanistan, and east bond from Iraq, which high number of casualties should be expected. Final option is going nuclear, and perhaps drop 2 thermonuclear devices, with casualties will be in millions and the horror beyond imagine. The ratio of gain to casualties is so small that can be neglected, that bring the other horrible fact which is reduction of people, a Holocaust well beyond WW II ??!!
It's a tragedy? it's Horror, horror........horror?
Best Regards.

Hit them? Egads, good thing you're not a diplomat.
Actually, as in reaching a settlement with Northern Korea, our government is reaching out to China to act as an emmisary in seeking relief with Iran in this looming crisis.
Maybe the Bush white house has been forced to use diplomatic means as a result of the Iraqi crisis, and, his failure for the Republican party, at home.

If we attack Iran, it will make the Iraq War look like the Cub Scout Blue & Gold Banquet.
1) The Iranian people, who want freedom, will rally around their Medieval Mullahs, and all progress will be lost.
2) Unlike the Iraqis, who did not want to fight for Saddam, the Iranians WILL fight for their country. It will not be a cakewalk.
3) Like paying $10 a gallon for gas?

What UN resolutions is Iran breaking? None. If we attack it will be an unprovoked invasion. No hatred, just logic will tell you that. The only thing inevitable is that any plan hatched by bush will fail.

No, I pretty much don't feel obligated to love anyone because of where they were born...Jerks are jerks, and lots of them happen to be American citizens. I would like to split the country down the middle and let the libs have half, then when they ruin it and beg us to come back we'll talk.
