Yesterday a friend (girl) touched my head and I got really pissed , but still, I maintained a right way of approaching this
and asked her to please not touch my head. Right away she said, "oh, sorry..I didn't know you were all delicate"...WTF?
I felt like telling her twenty two ounce self to shut her sloppy self up, and act like a lady=)....Is it me, or am I the only person who doesn't appreciate or, feel it's necessary to touch people when greeting or having a simple conversation? I believe in the hand shaking, but even then I automatically want to wash my hands..am I a snob, or what?

Haptics is the study of touching behavior. Touch is an extremely important sense for humans; as well as providing information about surfaces and textures it is a component of nonverbal communication in interpersonal relationships, and vital in conveying physical intimacy.

Touching is treated differently from one country to another. Acceptable touch varies by cultural group. In the Thai culture, touching someone's head may be thought rude. Remland and Jones (1995) studied groups of people communicating and found that in England (8%), France (5%) and the Netherlands (4%) touching was rare compared to their Italian (14%) and Greek (12.5%) sample.

sounds like either a snob or a bad case of pms. you cant really get mad at people for touching you if they dont know that you dont like to be touched.... and for the comment your friend made... it isnt that big of a deal. get over it.
