Why does Halo get so much publicity when there are so many better games out there?

I think this article does a good job showing some new games that are better than Halo, but when the older versions of Halo came out there were much better but also didn't get any press coverage.

Microsoft published Halo, Halo 2, and Halo 3. They had enough money to buy a NFL football team and call it 'Halo is the Best Game Ever!' and dress everyone in Master Chief pads and make all visiting teams wear Flood and Covenant costumes.
Oh and Halo 1 is better than Halo 3. do yourself a favor and check it out. You also get more of the story that way. And might as well pick up halo 2 while your at it so you can get the full story.

I agree. I saw an article about 2 weeks ago that said that Halo is a great game, but it isn't the best game ever made. Just because Halo has sold millions of copies, that doesn't make it one of the best games ever made. I think that many Halo fans think that Halo 3 is the best game ever made, but to me it's just another First Person Shooter, I really don't see what makes Halo different from any other FPS.

The only reason it's so popular is because it's one of Microsofts big exclusive titles, and it's a largely online game. Many of the people that bought Halo 3 only bought it for the online play and not the main campaign mode.

Halo 3 gets so much publicity because it's a good game, and millions agree with me............I thought you could figure that out by yourself. Maybe you just suck at Halo 3. What game out there right now is better than Halo 3, as far as the replay value? What game has 1,000,000+ players on their servers every day? I played the Gears of War, R6V, Bioshock, COD4 Beta, none come close to the fun I have playing Halo 3. The only one that was moderately fun, but got old quick was Gears of War. Bioshock is a great game but lacks online capabilities so once you beat the game, it's Game Over.

Watch for this same question when Grand Theft Auto 4 comes out. It's just some hater who can't figure out what button is to shoot and which is to jump.

I'll have to agree a bit on this one, and I even kind of liked the original Halo. To me, as it's been said before, seems like it was mainly the playability of being online plus playing with friends. I know there may have been other games at the time that the original Halo came out, but it was hyped up so much, and so many people played it, not just by themselves but with friends at their own houses, that it just caught on. I was one of the later ones, and after seeing some of my kinfolks playing it, I decided to play it. Funny thing was, I sucked at first. But after playing awhile, my friends came over and I was much better, which was a relief. It was fun playing with my friends, because if they got mad, then they'd get me back, and it was fun for them to get some payback. But yeah, I'll agree, it's not the game to end all games.

Its mainly because thre are so may fans of it that contact their friends telling each other about it then they buy the game, also because mainly its the game that everysingle country has unlike other video games, so most people get that game, also because of rumors saying its the best game ever, the more people that buy halo, the more popular it gets, i fell for that trick and bought halo 3, i like it, just not that much .. haha =)
