The south west monsoon is nothing but sea-breeze on a large scale.Just like the differential heating of the sea and the adjacent land area by the sun is responsible for the sea-breeze to blow towards the adjacent land, the differential heating of the land mass in the Northern Hemisphere and the vast sea area in the Southern Hemisphere is responsible for this monsoon winds. This happens only when there is summer in the Northern hemisphere. At this time, the sun is over the tropic of cancer(21 st June)and the land over Northern Hemisphere gets warmed up while the Southern Hemisphere is cooler as it receives less sunlight. Now the cooler moist air from the Southern Hemisphere starts moving towards the hot Northern Hemisphere.Once this airflow crosses the equator, it is deflected to the right by the coriolis force and blows over India and East Asia from the south west direction. This moist air when aided by other factors results in abundant rain. So the south west monsoon starts blowing over India during the month of June when the peak summer starts.
Moreover the Tibet Plateau on the north of the Himalayas acts as a potential heat source for this kind of air movement to occur in this period.

Very good question and here is the scientific answer friend.
The summer monsoon must wait until the air over the continent becomes much warmer than the air above the Indian Ocean. Once developed in June the monsoonal air flow will remain until September.

It also depends on the hemisphere in which travel is taking place, because of the effect of the spinning of the earth. Consideration has also to be given of the relative velocity of the train to the wind and the potential effect of the Special Theory of Relativity on the mass-time equation. Would be quite an insoluble question were it not for the fact that electric trains do not emit smoke
