Here is a list of Communist Goals for the United States as read into the Congressional Record of 1963.

It is interesting reading and it should answer your question.

Be advised that the list was originally complied by an investigative reporter and political commentator and published in a book.

Some of the most "communist" institutions in the USA, are ironically those that some right wingers hold up as American icons. If we take Communism to mean state run, bureaucratic, nationalised industries/organisations, these would include all of the American secret services - such as the FBI, CIA, NSA etc etc, the USAF, US navy, US army, as well as the (non-private) education system etc etc

Some religious organisations in the USA hold/held communistic views, so did some of the old native tribal societies. The Mormons for example, did try common ownership at one stage.

Which society? In the world, there are several states which describe themselves as "communist", including the People's Republic of China. However, it is highly arguable that they are anymore, since Communism is by its nature against big business - China is full of big business now, even in "communist" social clubs where you can find branches of Starbucks. However, I certainly wouldn't call the place "democratic" either.

In the USA, communism isn't really there, although there is "commune-ism" to a degree - i.e. people living in communes.

In various countries, statues and images can still be seen from the communist period. However, a lot of purist communists will tell you that communism has never existed, but will at some point in the future, e.g. the Russian Empire did not have a proper capitalist society, so did not have a proletarian revolution.

It isn't. Communism is a particular political/economic system with distinctive features, including the instutionalization of a dictatorship and abolition of markets.

There are some elements in American society and institutions that are nominallly "socialist"--like ownership and operation of our roads by the state. That's the case in every developed/capitalist society--some tasks are better done by the state, even if most are best left to the private sector.

There's a lot of confusion, however--mostly as a result of right-wig rhetoric. Communism and socialism are entirely different systems of organizing society--and socialism does not preclude market institutions, and many nations who are more or less socialist are also free and democratic. Communism, by definition, is none of those things.

If you want a specific example: Check out this link. It deals with what the present of academia and the possible future of our youth is regarding communism if we ignore it.

In general: You can visit the following sites and compare the ideology to what you see as the Democratic National Platform. The similarities are shocking.

i think it is cleverly hidden under other ideology such as democracy. Think of how unidirectionally the society as a whole is going at........trends, monopolies, lifestyle, all maybe an essence of democracy, but if u look at it from another angle, it is communism of a different kind, which may not be a bad thing......
y is communism deemed as negative in the forst place? altho it is evident that communism doesnt really work well for
'those countries'.

Well, when the government takes over GM and the Oil Industry instead of just throwing tax money back at them - you will know it is here.
Until then, learn what you are talking about.

It is evident in the neo-liberal, secular, socialist ideologies of the Left.

It isn't evident, except maybe in Yahoo Answers where church folks sit around waiting for the chance to snitch on someone.
