Emails with word attachments (.doc) won't open...box comes up saying "file not found". This is for ALL the ones I receive from anyone. How do I fix this?

I use hotmail and just recently this has started happening. I have Word on my computer.

In order to read these, you need to have Word on your computer. I get a lot of attachments that are written in Word Perfect and can't open them. I have the program, but not loaded. It is generally my choice to just delete it. If it is something important, then reply to the sender and ask is they will send it again in a format that you can open. Give them the program that you use for making documents. Good luck.

It would be really helpful to know what program you are using to read your email. You could be using Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, Yahoo or even your ISP's website.
