Think about it...everything moves on crate or palate...there's probably more plastic used now...it may still be an LEI, but I don't think it's no 1 is raw materials consumption anymore.

I think you were mistaken when you were a student. The largest consumer of raw wood is (and has been for quite a few decades) the paper industry. The amount of woodpulp produced every year is just a tad smaller than the amounts of lumber, veneer, plywood, and particle board combined.
