It's WAAAY too early to start deciding the '08 election. It's like calling a football game after the first quarter when one team is 3 points ahead.

At this point it looks like Giuliani and Hillary but things could change. Last time, remember, Howard Dean was leading the Democrats up to almost the last minute, just before the convention. That could happen in either party this time. Giuliani and Hillary are 'presumptive' candidates only because they have raised the most money in their respective parties. But this time it's not so much about money.

But I think it looks bad for the Republicans. Republican leaders are locked into a losing strategy. Republican voters are highly disappointed with Bush, but he can't do anything to make them happier with him. The Democrats are powerless to end the war or stop Bush's other abuses, and in a strange way this helps them. Perhaps it is even their strategy, to give Bush enough rope to hang himself.

Also all the Republican front-runners are seriously flawed. Giuliani pisses of the religious right. Fred Thompson looks old and decrepit, and despite all the hopes the party seems to have for him, all the good things they say about him, he really has nothing to say for himself. Romney is Mormon and NO WAY are fundamentalist Christians going to vote for a Mormon. Ron Paul is a maverick and the party doesn't trust him with their agenda.

The Democrats, OTOH, have several viable candidates. None are my ideal, but they are viable, not as seriously flawed. You can see this by the way Republicans on Yahoo Answers talk about them--they never actually address the candidates' ideas or proposals, they just say they're 'way too liberal', 'extremists', or 'socialists'. Which is just silly. How unassailable is someone if you can't disagree with them, you can only call them names?

So it looks like the Democrats will take the White House and strengthen their lead in Congress. And though I'm not a Democrat, I think this is good. They aren't perfect but they will do a better job than the Republicans have done. Republicans work better in the minority. They do a good job of keeping a Democratic president in check, while, as you can see now, the Democrats are powerless to keep a Republican president honest. With all his flaws, Bill Clinton was the best president we've had in quite a long time, and perhaps Hillary can do as good of a job.

Hillary will give away everything. Legalize all illegals. Try to be buddies with terrorists. She believes she can talk sense into them. Ha! Obama is not qualified enough for me. I am not hearing anything good for our country from the Dems. Nor much from the Reps. It still needs to be narrowed down. I do not like Guiliano because he believes in legalizing all illegals. Duncan Hunter said he would have a fence built the first 6 months of office. Fred Thompson is a tall man with strong conviction. He could be our man on the white horse. I think any one that would run on closing our borders, no sanctuary cities, big business big fines for hiring illegals. Sorry the CEO Does not need millions a year, he could share with the American people and pay them decent wages.
Then the illegals will not be needed. I an still waiting for that person who has a great vision for America and Americans!

I like Kucinich so far.

I like his positions and his views. He unlike most of the other candidates is not owned by corporate America, special interests groups and lobbyists. His voting record in Congress indicates he's for the American working men and women (I would say middle class, but I think we've lost that) none of the other candidates voting records indicate that. When you get to hear the man speak like on the Newshour program with Judy Woodruff, he's speaks volumes.

I personally think it's time for a change. The same two families will have been in office for the past 20 years if Mrs Clinton wins. Get new faces and families in office.

Everybody stay home on election day!

After all, the Supreme Court might not allow your vote to be counted anyway.

Ron Paul is the only candidate that if elected can fix our country. If any other candidate wins it won't make much of a difference to me because they all pretty much are going to do the same bullshit.

In all honesty, I think the race will come down to Hillary and Giuliani. Though Hillary might have hosed herself with her melt down. Regardless, if it comes down to those two, a win by either one puts a liberal into office.

Fred Thompson. The Democrats (especially Hillary Clinton) are all WAY too far to the left to even consider.
