I've noticed that all over the world, Pizza hut's are consistently closing down and no new ones are being built. Whats going on??. Are we seeing the demise or the famous pizza joint. Does anyone know??

All of the chains put out mediocre pizza designed to appeal to as many people as possible.. You kind of answered your own question by indicating brands that you think are better. Other may not agree with you and like the taste of Pizza Hut and think the others are gross. These chains spend a lot of money on market research and taste testing. They know what they are doing and what will appeal to the most number of people. If you want exciting and really good pizza you need to look at small speciality shops that will take chances with flavors and styles that are outside of the bland norm.

Ours is still in business, but when I was in high school, THE place to be after football games was the local pizza place. Ours was so crowed, they had to post police at the entrance and monitor the number of occupants in the building. I don't know what kids do nowdays after games and such. Our local Donato's franchise went out after being open for only a year. The Pizza Hut chain is advertised pretty heavily here in Indiana though.

I haven't heard or read anything about Pizza Hut going out of business. We have 2 in town and they show no signs of closing.

I really does seem like a lot of them are closing down, but they're not going out of business. One of the one's nearby where i live closed down but reopened soon after.Turns out it was just getting renovated to look more like a restaurant then a pizza joint. That may be what's going on where u live too but i at least know that they r definetly no going out of business.

one of the pizzahuts 30 mins from where i live closed down and is up for real estate (there are still 3 other pizza huts in that city)

Not that I know of .. but I personally have not eaten there pizza in years. I had my nieces and nephew over one time and they thought it was nasty as well.. Now when you can not give small kids pizza without them wanting to throw it out of the window, you are doing pretty bad !

Same in our town..we are getting in brand new Papa Johns as well so maybe Papa Johns is winning the pizza battle
