Darlin, hears my advice. Buy yourself a learn to chrochet kit and make you parents a nice aphgan. This way you get the benifit of making the project and your mom gets something you made yourself with your own two little hands and no matter what age you are something you made youself always means more than something store bought.

There is a really good kit out there. It's called I can chrochet. Its a learn how book with thirteen projects and instructional lessons for left handed and right handed people and everything you need to get started except the yarn.

It has five different sized regular chrochet hooks, a long aphgan hook, stitch markers and three thread bobins. Its only about 12$ and its easy to learn. You can also get a lot of information at about.com under chrochet including how to instructions.

I have been chrocheting for the last 17 years and I am 32, trust me, chrochet isnt only a fun hobby but a very prductive addiction. I have only two addictions, one is lip gloss and the other is chrochet. I joke that Im a yarn pusher cause Im always trying to spread my favorite addiction and I teach everyone I get a chance to how.

Things that come from stores do not show near the appreciation as something you have made on your own.

Try making a scrapbook. It's simple (but can be detailed if you want it to be) and is a great way to showcase those special moments you have shared with them!

If it has to be something from a store:
an engraved picture frame with a family portrait inside, a nice bottle of wine, or a visit to a day spa.

Your mom and dad will love this!

I've already recommend it to a few people on here, so I won't go into great detail.

The site is called Unforgettable Presents. They create personalized video cards of which I've never seen or heard of before.

The price is a little on the expensive side, but when you consider that the guy who runs it creates a custom made video all about the people you choose to give one of these gifts, you're getting a bargain.

I split the cost up between all of our family members who took part in this wonderful present for my sister. All we had to do was dial a normal phone number in Long Island and leave a personal birthday greeting message on a kind of voice mail machine. It was the same as using voice mail and easy to do.

We left 14 messages and uploaded some pictures and video clips to their website. After that, they took care of everything else and made a breath taking video (which my sister says she will keep for the rest of her life).

Best thing for you to do is to download the free sample from the site (you'll have to give up an email address for it), then you'll see just how amazing these so called "Unforgettable Presents" really are.

It's a UK based company, but they serve customers worldwide.

This one gets a big thumbs up from me. You can see more here: http://www.UnforgettablePresents.com
