Bob D, I did read the whole article. I never said he shouldn't be charged with a crime or that he shouldn't do time. But 30 years for shoving someone?

He committed robbery and battery. Not worth 30 years. I would hope the judge uses some common sense.

By Mo. laws he was charged correctly. This doesn't mean he will be tried on the charges as they were filed. You can bet they will reduces the charges and shoot for a plea deal to keep it from going to jury trial.

But, if someone is going to break the law they should spend a little time finding out what the consequences for breaking that law are.

The article also said he was a repeat offender. That's going to go against him as well. Charging him with the worse crimes they can also calls for a higher bond and this of course could be lowered if he is charged with a lower offense.

He stole something.
He assaulted someone (yes a push is assault).
He has a record.

Sorry -- but if it was "just a donut" then maybe he ought to have paid for that donut AND walked out of the store with out assaulting anyone. If he thinks he is better than everyone and can run around stealing things and acosting people then his *** needs to be in jail until he figures out what an idiot he is!

Did you read the whole story? He has a rap sheet. It is the assault he is going to jail for. The donut was minor. He hit someone. That is the real crime. Learn to read the article with a critical eye. Headlines are sensationalism......

"with a potential prison term of five to 15 years. Because he has a criminal history, prosecutors say they could seek 30 years." - My thoughts, good. If he has enough criminal history to allow for doubling the maximum sentence, he needs to be there.

"because he has a criminal history". It is there in the article. Obviously there is more to this than a donut heist.

Here's a guy willing to use physical violence to obtain a pastry.

You like him so much, let him serve parole in your neighborhood!

Well, when you have a rap sheet like his, that's what he deserves. Morons never learn.
