ok, history lesson folks,
in the 1950s there were communist spys in the US government so it made sense to investigate, some spies were caught that was good
but in 2007 there aren't any soviet communist spies on yahoo answers

The "Commie Black Listers" was a House of Representatives committee called the House Un-American Activities Committee.
Senator McCarthy never sat on a House Committee.
Senator McCarthy did chair a Senate Hearing on communists in the military where he accused the leadership of the Democratic Party to be "Leftest".
Imagine, Democrats "Leftests"!
HUAC was originally formed in the 1930's by the Democrats under the leadership of Martin Dix (D-TX) and with the support of the KKK.
Eventually HUAC changed it's name (early 70's I believe) to the House Judiciary Committee where they still accuse people of Un-American Activities and are still, you guessed it, run by Democrats.
Interesting how Democrats have now re-defined anti-communism as McCarthyism and how many uneducated people believe that garbage. Especially since McCarthy was originally a Democrat, but, found it easier to be elected in the North as a Republican since Northerners didn't appreciate the anti-civil rights, slavery supporting Democratic party.
Also very interesting that "Southern Democrats" are blamed for the woes of African Americans when it was New York Democrats who rioted, lynching blacks from street lamps in New York city.
Propaganda wins over the uneducated every time.

Just because President Reagen defeated the Evil Empire that was the USSR, doesn't mean there are no communist left. Just that they realize that as it is a defeated ideology, they must hide what they believe and what their goals are. They are today's "Progressives", The Green Party, The leadership of the Democratic Party, and they are a large percentage of the entrenched Academia in America today. One way to tell if they are closet Commies;
1. They Hate what America stands for and actually work for it to be less power full.
2. They Hate and distrust the military, call them murderers and robots, (Murtha, Reid, Pelosi, Clinton)
3. They hate Capitalism and individual responsibility.
4. They believe the greatest threat to freedom is religion, but are in love with a nanny government.

It's the new defense against universal health care.
They are trying very hard to convince people that paying federal taxes and having a Federal Government provide a service is Communism...
They are also denying the need for the FDA, USDA and other regulatory agencies that have been cut to the bone over the last half-dozen years - for being incompetent!
The e-coli and lead poisoning are supposed to be detected without any funding or staff!

It is funny. What's even better is that a lot of people misuse the terms or create confusion by associating people that have reactionary beliefs with liberalism and communism. For instance, I've heard people compare Hillary to Amhadinejad. It's a hilarious comparison because Hillary is a centrist liberal and Amhadinejad is way, way to the right on every issue. People don't even know what their talking about.

Some people are so stupid that they don't really know what communism is, it's just something they've been conditioned like Pavlov dogs to react against, and they use the term to refer to any and all things they happen not to like.
