They should be dropped down to double A.
The players were all high and drunk the night before sleeping with all kinds of sexy, dirty girls from L.A. Kind of like on varsity blues when they go to the titty bar. Then they show up on play like crap. There is no excuse for that. I think they should let LSU and Florida play for the BCS title since the game was a pretty good game to watch.

USC is media porn... that's all they are. Everyone gets off on it for some reason. I don't get how just because some team was great in the past it means they HAVE to be ranked pre-season top ten every year. It's baffling.
Don't get me wrong, USC is a great team, but they lost to Stanford. Even Florida's loss to Auburn wasn't as bad, since Auburn is a pretty decent team that got off to a rocky start. The drops of Florida and USC in the polls after their losses were almost equivalent. I can't imagine USC falling lower than 2-loss Florida though, even if Florida's losses were close. The #10 ranking just keeps USC in the title hunt.
I bet if USC ended the season with a losing record, they would come into next year as a pre-season top 5. Why? Because it's USC. Los Angeles controls the media and the media controls the population. When I'm a famous film and television writer someday, I'm bringing the east to the west. I'll tell them what's up.

Wow, what an SC love fest. Let me be a contrarian, SC is ranked about where it should be. Sagarin's computer has them at seven. No media porn or bias there. Pure objectivity based on their results to date. SC is just a very good team that had a very bad day at the office.
But let's go further. LSU is clearly leading the pack. But if you were an opposing coach, which teams would you fear most out of the remainder. My list is Oklahoma, Florida, West Virginia, Oregon, and SC, all of whom have at least one loss, and maybe Ohio State.
If you look at the stats for SC and the other teams I mentioned, they all average about 200 more yards in offense than they give up in defense, which is a stat you usually find in the top 5 teams. (I know, Fla and Ore are a little short, but they've looked good and had tough schedules.) As an aside, 50-100 net yards is a good indicator of a top 10-25 team.
None of the other undefeated makes the grade -- at least so far. BC, SFla, Cal and Missouri have all shown flashes of greatness but have to do more (which they may well do). Kansas, Connecticut, Hawaii, Arizona State and Cincinnati are still unknowns and must pass a few more tests.
Sorry SC haters but until SC proves that its loss to Stanford is a trend, not a fluke, they are exactly where they should be. We will find out more when they hit Oregon in 3 weeks, if not sooner.
(I'd give the same latititude to LSU which with a few inopportune turnovers could have easily lost to Tulane, a far worse team than Stanford. Shame we probably won't see an LSU v. USC match for the BCS title this year).

You forgot to mention that USC's "big" win over then top 15 Nebraska was also meaningless. As we all know, Nebraska was demolished by Missouri something like 45-6. USC allowed Nebraska to score 31???. As everyone knows, USC is THE media darling and will never fall out of the top 25 unless they finish the season 0-11. No one with any common sense can rank USC in the top 10 after a loss to Stanford. Had someone like LSU lost the same game at home to a team of Stanford's caliber, LSU would drop out of the top 15-20. But, this is the way it is, and this is the way it always will be. The media will continue to overrank Big 10 and Pac 10 teams and the results of the BCS national championship will continue to be the same. Texas over USC, FLA demolished Ohio St.
All the people with sense will just have to sit back and smile. Let the media hype up the big/pac 10 and it just sets them up for a bigger fall come January. Geaux Tigers.
P.S. Austin N - please start taking your meds, I think your delusions are getting worse.

I think that they should be around 15-20 or so. They are definitely overrated as you see by their play this weekend. Michigan dropped out of the 25 because they lost to a D-II school which is worse than the lost to Stanford, all of the teams you listed I also believe that they should be ranked ahead of them, but they are the "all mighty" USC, so they will stay in the top 10, even though they got beat by an unranked team that was a 40 point underdog.

Sad thing is I think Appalachian St would beat Stanford. I believe you go undefeated in any conference it would be hard but USC is overrated always has been. The entire Crap 10 is maybe 4th in conference I would put them in with the MAC. USC will beat UCLA and be a powerhouse even thoughUCLA lost to Notre Dame but you wont hear about the UCLA loss to Notre Dame just the USC win over UCLA and how great they are. Case and point OU losses Colorado you dont hear about how overate Oklahoma is you hear how Colorado is back and better then ever. Why?? cause if not pollsters would have to admit they are all tools. Dropping USC out of the top 10 would be voters admitting they've been wrong all along about USC. Then a weak overrated Big 10 team goes and plays them in a Bowl game gets killed and we all have to hear how great the PAC 10 is again

Mongo, what are you talking about, how can a #1 team in the nation be out of the top 10 with 1 lost. Why are you comparing USC to Kentucky, what has UK done in the pass to get the special treatment? USC won 5 PAC 10, 2 national title and 3 Heisman in the last 5 year, UK nothing. Please don't compare the two, about how many spot the team fall, please spare me. How about FL, a 2 lost team at #13 and 14 how about that and you talking about the medias biased toward USC, what about FL. USC will rise to the top again this season after they beat Oregon and Cal, damn it, i just want to strangle my Booty QB with his INT's, he cause us this game against the Cardinals.

Well Michigan lost to a non ranked team and they were bounced out of the top 25. Granted it was a D1aa school. USC should be 24 if not 25.

i agree mostly with eric B. sports writers are mostly paid to promote college football. some worse than others. they just have this image that USC and Oklahoma are dominant. they cannot be detered from it. it's a feedback loop i think... writers keep putting OU up as high in the polls as they can because they know OU has such a soft schedule. they have to sell the 'powerhouses'.
so technically USC having not beaten anyone good and losing to stanford they should be ranked around #20 (this is being generous, giving the benefit of the doubt). but because it's such BS they shouldn't be ranked at all.

Their performances the last two weeks was shitty so they shouldn't be ranked in the top 12 or even the top 15. They're overrated. With their loss to Stanford, their national championship hopes are gone because there will be teams more deserving to go the national championship than USC

I think USC should be ranked #117 in Division 1-A. Right ahead of Florida Atlantic and Florida International.
