a) My car is immaculate and looks like it just came off the showroom floor. Everything is in it’s place and you probably couldn’t find a speck of dust anywhere.
b) My car has a few loose papers, maybe a soda can or two in the cupholders, a duffle bag, and a pair of sneakers but overall everything is presentable.
c) My car looks like the city dump inside. There is food on the floors, the cupholders are dirty, the dashboards are dusty and I am pretty embarrased to have others riding with me. I wouldn’t be surprised if I saw a roach crawling.
d) I don’t have a car so this question doesn’t apply to me. But thanks for the two points!

I'm closest to b, but want to be an a! There are no duffle bags or sneakers, and shouldn't be any empty beverage containers in my car at the moment. I know for a fact there are a few loose papers. In the cargo area, there is a blanket, jumper cables, 4-way lug wrench, and small box of tools. There is also my carry-along tote bag of car cleaning supplies, and a folding metal chair that really needs to get out of there and be put in the shed!
A couple of weeks ago, I cleaned the plastic and vinyl, and Armor-alled everything, and did the windows. It needs done again. My fiance tends to be a slob, and we always use my car when we go anywhere together. So there are ashes all over, moisture rings in the cupholders, etc.
Before winter, I need to give the wheels a good scrubbing, get another coat of wax on the exterior, shampoo the carpet, and clean the leather seats with Maguires leather cleaner and conditioner. I'm just waiting for the heat-wave to break, so I can do it without passing out from heat exhaustion. Wednesday, I'm getting new tires, but I'm overdue for an oil change.
I've always been really particular about my cars, and it makes me crazy to see such a nice car is such sad shape! It was my fiance's before we got together, and he never seems to pay any attention to how his cars look! I don't even know if I can bring that carpet back to like-new, or not! It's bad.

I had to drive a carpool so I made the kids clean out my van on Friday so i would say:

between A & B. I keep it swept out and the dashboard dust free. But there is usually a pop can in the cup holder and maybe mail or newspaper in the seat.
My friend however is C all the way. We never take her car because there is no where for me or anyone else to sit. LOL

I'm stuck in the middle between A and B, the only thing in my car is some dirt on the floor mats and a brand new air freshner under the driver seat.

I think this question is more related to the income/social status of the car owner. I've noticed all my friends with 3 year old or newer cars generally keep the interior pretty clean. People with filthy cars, generally have filthy houses. I like to keep mine really clean and clutter free, when I get inside I like the new car / leather smell and I don't like to feel like I have to wash my clothes when I get out of it. I hate getting into people's cars and having to shove plastic bottles and mcdonalds bags out of the foot well just to be able to put my feet on the floor. In my experience most people clean their cars similar to the way they drive them. Without regard.

Backseat of a vehicle is greater cramped, yet somewhat greater mushy than the backseat of a truck until you have a pad or mattress. My determination: if available, interior of reach on the grass. Roomy and mushy.
