To take a nap for 30 minutes if you're tired yes. But if you're going to sleep and start an 8 hour cycle, no.. Because night is meant for sleep and rest not day. Don't waste a day sleeping when you can spend it in a better way.

Its okay to go to sleep at any hour of the day or night ... but if you are an adult who must live according to a work schedule and you are at work at 4:30, or should be 'finishing up' to head home, you do have a problem. Try going to bed half an hour earlier after NOT taking your 'nap' and see if that and a good 'snack' (one or two bites of dark chocolate and a serving of fresh fruit) at 3-4 won't 'wake you up' enough to make it through your work day. But, if you are truly sleepy, yes, it's okay to take a nap before you do anything else. In fact, it's not just 'okay' ... it's actually SAFER to take a nap (one hour ... a 'power nap') than to try to force yourself to stay awake.

Yes especially if you work evenings/nights like I do at the hospital...gotta get your shut eye when you can. I used to swing shift, I am so glad I have a little more normal schedule, not perfect or set in stone, but I only pull all nighters on some of the weekends :) Yay:) Take Care.-Rachel.

Sure, it's OK. I often take a power nap after working day shift. But, only for one hour or so.

Yep...when you are sick, that is perfectly acceptable.
When you under 7 yrs of age or over 35 yrs of age, it is also acceptable. Little kids and the elderly need their naps, you know...

Sure is. Unless you're Thelma, the former mother in law. She didn't allow sleeping during the day.
