I have done so many times. I am 64 years old, but very small, and have been ignored by store personnel many times. When I was about 30, I had had enough of people being waited on who came in after me (I thought they were rude, too. They saw me standing there, and could have pointed out to the clerk that someone was there ahead of them). Anyway................
My thing now is to step between the clerk and the patron and demand of the clerk, "Can you see me?!?!?!?!" Naturally, they say something like, "Uhhhh.....Well......Yes, M'am."
Then I say, "Oh, thank goodness--I thought I had gone invisible!" This usually embarasses both the clerk and the patron enough that I get waited on right away. If it doesn't, I demand it anyway, and am seldom turned away. I think that the clerk has gotten the message that "This old lady doesn't care what people think--If I don't wait on her, I will probably lose my job."
I use the same technique when a clerk is doing something personal--talking on the phone when it is obviously a personal call, chatting with a friend who is not a customer, filing her nails, even straightening stock. The clerk's primary job is to wait on the customers, and when I am ready to shop, nobody or nothing gets in my way except other customers who were there before me.
If you ever have this problem, you should try this sometime--it's very liberating.

I have another little peeve that probably developed as a result of my own experiences of being ignored. I get so mad when I see a child waiting and waiting for service, but being ignored, and seeing the adults who will take a turn knowing there is a child there ahead of them. I have often gotten out of line to approach the counter to advise the clerk of the child's presence, and tell him/her how many people he has served since the child was standing and waiting for service. That almost always works, too. If necessary, when the adult currently about to be served attempts to go first, I give them a little talk on manners, too.
You'd be surprised what a little old lady can get by with. I guess most folks think that we are crazy, or that we have a care-taker standing somewhere nearby to defend me if needed, or maybe both, but I rarely have any objections. I stand up to those, too, as there are usually other people collected to watch the show, and most of them share my point of view.

No, I don't waste my time on an employee if there is a problem. I come home and file an online complaint or call back and talk to the manager if I didn't while I was at the place of business.Alot of people that work for minimum wage don't give a sh**. They can find the same paying job elsewhere.

I was at Walmart and this old beyotch was at the door and she stopped me (the security thing didnt go off) Shes like I need to check your bags because your DOG FOOD isnt in a bag. I'm like its a 20lb effin bag of dog food, so I gav her my recepit and she started ruffling through my bags. I was really poed because I shop there all the time and she acted like I was a criminal or something. When she was done I grabbed my recepit from her and dialed the store phone number on my recepit and told them they needed to do something about the beyotch at the door right in front of her)
I ahve not been back since!

No, still now i havent filed any complaints on a rude employee and i will not do so it even in the future. If i find any one rude in store i ll just tell him no to be so rude and i ll also say him if u continue like this your boss will fire u because his business might fall if u continue in this way.

I almost did once at an YVES ROCHER store. I was browsing, or I should say, attempting to browse when this aggressive sales woman showed up.

She followed me like she was my shadow, making sales pitch one after the other. I felt like telling her to F.off but I didn't.

I used to like Yves Rocher's stores but I stopped going. I gave them another chance but I stopped going for good because they acted the same way again when I returned.

They lost a good customer!

Once I yelled at a walmart employee because he refused to sell me an extension chord because the address on my ID was different from the one on my check. I told him I had just moved from Iowa and hadn't gotten a new ID yet. He was a real dick about it so I was an asshole to him.
