I have the HP Pavilion DV6324us notebook and as it comes without a PCMCIA slot (an express card slot is a bit too forward thinking IMHO). I want to know if there are any adapters and/or any other options that are available for this notebook that would allow me to use PCMCIA cards with the notebook.

Thanks!

Also, if i connect an external monitor / TV to the notebook, will the notebook's screen be switched off or will it also remain on?

Hi. The PC slot (formerly known as PCMCIA) is on just about any notebook I have seen. You can't use a broadband wireless card without one. I don't know of any adapters, but have you checked to see if there may be one under a cover? If not, sorry.

Edit. I got curious about the new express card and learned something. Thanks! http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-10166_7-6335760-1.html?tag=txt
