The Bible, Revelation- Chapter 1, Verses 14 and 15, say Jesus had 'woolly' hair and feet that was burnt like a furnace. The only people on this Earth with "woolly" hair are Black American and African People. The inside of a burnt furnace is black. Therefore, Jesus was Black. Amazing. Here's a History website that lends to this fact.

Jesus was Jewish... same lineage as David and Abraham. He would probably have an olive complexion and look more middleeastern then anything else

If you believe the Bible is to be taken absolutely literally (if it works for you, makes you happy and a better person - go for it), the best that can be determined about Mary was she was Hebrew.

Gotta get your facts straight. "Woolly" hair is actually a fairly common trait of many mid-easterners, most certainly those of Hebrew descent. But the feet....well, why feet. Why not face, arms, etc. To use this as an indication that Jesus was "black" is actually flimsy at best. People that you are calling "black" actually have the least amount of melanin (what makes them black) in their feet and hands, especially the soles and palms. Thus if there were one body part that WOULD NOT indicate "being black", it would be the feet. Stretching the "burnt like a furnace" to "black" sounds reasonable until you actually deal with facts.

But at a more basic level - what difference does it make?

Oh yes, and that doesn't even account for the fact that there isn't even a "black". African? Well, Egypt is in Africa (as well as Morocco and Tunisia (carthage) and they aren't considered "black" at all. Sub-saharan African? Possibly. But there really isn't a "black".

According to religion Jesus is black, white, mexican and italian in other words Jesus is everything. And black people r not the only people with wooly hair some egyptians have wooly hair but do not tell them they r black cause they will tell u that they r not. And then we have the black feet, if u look at a black mans feet they r white and most of the time they r whiter than a white mans feet. So if u r black of course u will beleive he is black, if u r white u will believe he is white, if u r a Jew u will believe he is Jewish. In other words it makes no difference what u think as long as u believe in him.

I think it's more than plausible that Jesus was NOT a blond-haired blue-eyed white guy...given the region in which he is presumed to have lived, it's highly unlikely that he would look Western European. As far as whether or not he was black, or looked like modern day Middle Easterners, or what have you...I don't know.

But I'd certainly think that the Jesus that appears in most Western art is less than an accurate portrayal.

In the middle-east there was a lot of mingling of the races/blood. Depends on the parents.
As Jesus was a 'single parent' child the mother's qualities also appear in the child.
Any-way, according to the Geneticists and DNA studies it is believed that the human race started in Ethiopia.
But the Religious and Country's' Rulers in power did not/do not want to appear racial and discriminatory and so created the form of Jesus according to their fantasies and that of the society in which they lied/live in.

Which Jesus? Jesus was the most common name of that time and place in history. The Jesus of the Bible is a combination of various itinerant preachers who were also carpenters or fishermen. There are also a lot of "Babe the Blue Ox" kinds of oral legends in the Bible that were then attributed to the fictional character. The real Jesus is probably totally lost in history.

Jesus was Jewish so more Tan/Brown. The "Woolly Hair" is white as "wool" is white on sheep. It is a symbol of "Wisdom" that comes from age.

Yeah, okay... so what? Wouldn't be too unusual in that part of the world in those times. What's your point?

Oh... I get it. That would make black people better, right?

Racism cuts both ways. It doens't matter what color Jesus' skin was - what matters was his message.

it is quite possible that jesus was black, more more than anything he was probably of middle eastern decent, considering his birth place's location. the odds of jesus being white are slim to none...unless of course he was albino, which there are clues saying that he might have been.
