Hello all,

I was an Operations Manager when on September 27th of 2007 I brought a concern to my manager and the HR manager that I 2 of the leads and 1 supervisor that work for had told admitted to me that they were illegal aliens working with fake documents. Both HR manager and my manager told me not to worry about it.

The next day, September 28th I was brought into the HR manager's office and told that I was being suspended due to an emaployee filing a hostile workplace claim against me. They took my side of the story which was very brief since per company policy she was not alklowed to reveal who made the complaint and the exact details of the complaint !!!

On October 3rd, the HR manager called me to come back in to work to tell me that they have completed their investigation and that I am being terminated due to "loitering" with an employee and "trying to stop an employee from filing a complaint against you".

Too much of a coincidence for me !!! What can I do now ?

The charges that HR made against me are aboslutly FALSE. As a matter of fact, I learned today that the person that made the original allegations had been terminated. Im in Inidana by the way and do not have any extra funds for a lawyer right now !!

Get a lawyer. Is there any validity to the charges against you? If so, you are up a creek, nothing you can do. Of course, it all depends on what state you are in. If you are in a state like New York or California, you have various avenues, in Texas? Look for another job, you're done.

Document this stuff and get a lawyer. It is against the law to retaliate against a whistleblower. There is money in it for you if you sue them and win.

If you are not interested in getting your job back, consider notifying the federal government as to what happened. But that is a "scorched earth" tactic that you won't want to use unless you don't care about the consequences.

You need a labor attorney to evaluate your situation. There could be suit for wrongful termination or this could be a violation of toge whistle blower laws.
