I know that I will get boo'd for this, but I love it when my hubby and I break routine and go be kids - Go play mini-golf or bowling or an amusement park. then follow it up with dinner. It gives us time to laugh together and it's totally unexpected when he plans it.

This sort of depends what your missus would enjoy. Clearly you will have to avoid fishing shops and/or anything related to it as she might clobber you. I should think you want to start the day by giving her a lie in while you get the kids ready to be shipped off to the babysitter (if thats possible). Most of the ideas here are great and I love the idea of the zoo as it gives you both something to talk about. Perhaps its a bit sedate though for 'good crack' so you could think of somewhere with amusements too. My husband dragged me onto some fair rides on holiday (I am scared of heights) - I loved it and we laughed like kids. It was more the togetherness of it all rather than the doing - if that makes sense. Of course that should be followed by a romantic meal and with any luck early to bed....fingers crossed. Hope you have a great time. Remember to give her lots of compliments during the day - not just about the way she looks but perhaps her cooking (I get laughed at for mine but I can cope), ability to decorate (or design) - anyway, anything that will make her feel good about herself. Its an important part of the flirtation process.

A zoo, walk in the park, swim at the pool, a boat ride, paint ball shooting, indoor rock climbing, a bicycle ride to the park followed with a walk and romantic dinner. The sky is the limit have fun. These are all fun things that will bring you closer together as you can do them together without the interference of a movie coming between you talking. That is what you want right, to get back that conversation that doesn't include the daily poo poo report.

How about an amusement park? That is something you both could have fun doing.

This may sound kinda corny-but my fiance and I go to the zoo in our city and walk around and talk, looking at all the animals. It is just a genuine good time and allows you to reconnect and talk.

Go to a movie... or you could just have some dinner. Maybe something you have never tried before.
