You can cut it open, but you won't find any babies there alive
It sounds like your guppy died due to stress, and the fry won't be developed yet, otherwise she would have had them already

Hope that helps
Good luck

You mean you want to cut the eggs out and put them in with another fish?

I'm no expert, but I don't think that would work. Plus, if the guppy died, the fry probably aren't very healthy.

A guppy is small enough that I strongly doubt you could cut babies out of it. Plus I'm sure they don't live very long once the mother's dead, assuming that she was far enough along for them to be born yet in the first place. Feel free to cut it open...just don't expect much. And in the rare even that there ARE live babies inside...your other fish will eat them.

The babies are probably dead by now. I read you can reach into the water and tap against her stomach, the babies may come out. If you cut it open out of water they'd obviously die.

I don't know about the latter but I do know it's your obligation to do an autopsy. You have to find out why your beloved guppy died.
