my opinion is this, i have three teenage sons they wear their pants on thier hips not their waste, i can see the tops of thier boxers , it does not bother me, they have great grades, play ball, they stay home, and they are not out getting drunk , doing drugs...is it fair to make them do community service or have to pay a fine over this?.i would like to point out i am a grown women my no means do i want my asss hanging out , but in all fairness the way they make pants i cant bend over with out thongage.i have the same problem with my seven year old, should she go to jail for showing her panties? i find it ridiculous, if all i have to biatch about is the way my boys wear their pants i think im doing good...i have five kids and for all of them to be on the honor roll and be involved in ffA sports and dance im not going to complain about how they define themselves, for christ sake i looked like cindy lauper for a year and i run a news paper, never been to jail

to al of you who suggest my kids are copying from another kid, first off my daughter is 7 she could care less what she wears, but the factof the matter is she weighs 45 pounds and will be 8 in nov. she is rather think and even if i buy her pants her size the waste is large on her, even with a belt when she plays her underpants show, she could care about what brand they are where i bought them. as far as my sons go if the tops of their underwear show and the are wearing shirts how does that bother anyone i will post a pic of how they dress its their very own style

Its the fashion right now for boys.As long as they are good and not getting into trouble you have nothing to worry about. The younger ones you need to control, they are copying the teens. When they get to be teens its the fashion.

I don't think people should go to jail for saggy pants. But I disagree that stores don't sell clothing that prevents seven-year-old girls from showing their panties. My seven-year-old wears clothes that prevent this. They are not all from Abercrombie & Fitch or Old Navy, mind you, but they fit her and no one will suspect her of growing up to be become another of those women who walk around in clothing resembling negligees when not every place in America is 90+ degrees all the time anyway. Not saying all those women end up being treated badly by boyfriends or falling for all the fads of the world, but not too many people respect average, everyday females who walk around dressed like members of the Pussycat Dolls.
I don't mind seeing the top of some guy's underwear either. I don't assume he is a terrible scholar and destined to sell crack and be rich. But don't I have a right not to be forced to look at someone's holey, thready shirt and see their dirty skin, a patch of their underwear on the skin almost down by their penis? (Coz I've seen a guy dressed this way walking round in a department store....) It's not hurting me, true. But it's DEFINITELY more offensive than seeing two women wo love each other, knowing they "do stuff" that is still considered illegal for some odd reason.
Why? Coz I have to worry what might happen to him later that day. I have to be careful what happens when I'm around such a person. They could be mugged, attacked, etc. I will have to worry if my daughter wants to dress that way someday coz she sees it so out in the open. What if the fad changes to include the idea of it being "okay" to walk outside in underwear only? Some people already do this. I don't want to see it. Not coz I'd be turned on. I wouldn't. I'd be SADDENED and WORRIED for those doing it...and it does pose a threat to me personally, especially if I have my children with me. Sure, we all go through fads and we all turn out okay. But there are some people who get killed for fads too. You run a newspaper, so I'm sure you've heard of such tales.

Sometimes it's an image thing. It doesn't mean a kid is bad or anything but of course you want them to dress better for a job interview or a special event. I used to have long hair and wore bell bottom jeans so who am I to judge? I'm older now and have cleaned up my image because I have a good job and it's important to look respectful to people I'm in contact with. You have some good kids and kids will sometimes follow along with what the other kids are doing out of peer pressure or to look cool just like we did.

I suspect your question has arisen because of some new school dress code or such. If that's the case, they're just going to have to live with it. They can dress to their taste away from where this restriction is imposed.
Underwear is precisely that, an under garment not outterwear. I certainly don't want to see another person's underwear or have them see mine unless I'm intimate with them.
Hopefully, your boys will soon learn the difference between real fashion and fads.
All that said, congrats on raising good, smart kids!

I think we have alot more serious problems to worry about than if a teenager's pants are too baggy, saggy or whatever. I don't think they should have to do any community service or anything like that. It's ridiculous. When I was a teenager, we were wearing hip-hugging bell bottoms and bandana shirts that showed our backs and belly buttons. No one liked that either, but it's not a crime!

I don't have a problem with them, as long as their boxers cover their butt. There are far more offensive things in this world than a guy saggen his pants. Don't people have anything better to do than stare at guys rears and complain? Girls wear outfits that far more reveling and nobody threatens to send them to jail for having their actual rear end hanging out of Daisy Dukes, or their chest all but popping out on skimpy tops...leave em all alone unless it's actual indecent exposure...spend more time on actual criminal acts.........

I don't think cops should be involved in any of this. But I have sons of my own and I don't like their pants that low. But all the kids do it and like you said with their grades doing good, and never been in trouble I can't be upset as if they turned out wrong because of their boxers showing. I guess its like when we were young trying to copy Madonna's look.

My sons are the same way. The schools say it's so they can't sneak weapons into the school. The kids who have shot up schools didn't sneak the guns in, they went in shooting. No baggy pants to hide anything in required.

Life is full of rules that we all have to bend to, whether we agree with them or not. The sooner people get used to that idea the better. Otherwise, you risk raising a family of smart, drug-free, ball-playing adults who think that rules shouldn't apply to them.

It will never completrely go through. They did the same thing in m town for women when their panties hang out of the top of their jeans. And it never happened.
