Have a traffic trial court appearance.Offense : Following too closely.On First appearance .I Plead not guilty?

Minor accident where 3cars involved.Only d1st car has small dent. My car was at d rear.It involves 3 cars.Mine was the 3rd.Cop came,other 2drivers said there was a traffic,and that i hit the back bumper of 2nd car in the middle, the 2nd car hit the back bumper of 1st car in d front.The cop said d 1st car owner said there was a traffic and that he experienced one impact.So d cop said,I must have started hitting from the back.Cop gave me a citation.1st court appearance the cop was not available and one of d driver.I Plead not guilty.NOTICE 2 APPEAR LETTER 2wks time contain''RE:City Of ABC vs Myself:''Pls be advised that a traffic trial court appearance scheduled.Failure 2 appear will result in your appeal dismissed as abandoned and a judgement for the fine stated on the citation.This could result in the vehicle being towed for unpaid fines''.My observation: the 3rd driver didnt show up,no fine indicated on citation,vehicle being towed not applicable cos we all drove off after d incident

I'd plead not guilty, especially if you didn't hit the second car hard enough to do any damage to your car or to his.

If anything, there should be MORE damage on the second car from your impact than on the first car, not LESS.

Sheesh. Go to traffic court, plead not guilty, if the cop is nt there you will be dismissed, if he is,then there will be a brief trial and the judge will decide the case.

Frankly, it sounds to me you were following too closely, becuase you hit the car in front of you - you should be following at a safe enough distance to stop should traffic conditions require it.

But I may be wrong or you may get off with a technicality...
