I don't understand why because They always label there selfs Ethiopian or white. They get mad and racists when someone call them African. Ethiopians have dark skin and some of them don't like to be call african. It's does not mean you have straight hair you not a African.

This is kinda making me a racists towards Ethiopians but I not trying to! Ethiopians what wrong with your skin color but you are a African ok. Are Ethiopians trying to tell African-Americans to stop using this American cluture and find out what country came from. Maybe some of us African-American have Ethiopian in us but you never know untill you find out.

Where do you get this stuff? Do you even know any Ethiopians? I do and I don't know a single one that identifies themselves as white, arab or anything other than Ethiopian or black. I don't any who deny being African. They don't all have straight hair and you really need to stop generalizing. What in the world is wrong with you?

Helina G, now I know where I she got this. If you think that you are not "*****" then you need to think again as the Human Genome Project does not agree and I tend to take the scientific findings of people who have devoted their lives to the study of DNA over your opinion. Arabs are in the same hot sun and they're not nearly as dark as Ethiopians and yes, I've been to Africa. Your ancestors were Nubians and Khushites who were irrefutably black though there was quite a bit of mixture (but everyone has quite a bit of mixture - my maternal grandmother is only 1/4 black (1/2 Scot and 1/4 English) and my paternal grandmother was only 1/8) but that mixture doesn't mean that I'm not black. Sorry to burst your bubble but the truth is the truth.

I lived in Ethiopia and still have many ethiopian friends and I've never heard a single one imply they didn't think they were africans. Chances are slim that we (black americans) have much if any Ethiopian blood, Ethiopia is in east africa, our ancestors are from west africa.

EDIT: The US is closer to West Africa, so it was cheaper to buy west africans. There was no suez canal back then, so a trip to Ethiopia (with cargo ships) would have meant going all the way around the entire continent which would have costed way more money, meant the loss of way more slaves through the long trip back to the US, etc.. It simply wasn't practical. Plus Ethiopia isn't an islamic country and may not even have engaged in the slave trade.

that's not authentic. have you ever talked to all Ethiopians to attain that end and back your accusations up? in all threat not. sure, some would dislike black people as a results of clashes in cultures and life at a similar time as different do not. it somewhat is predicated on the guy. Secondly, Ethiopians would have a various bloodlines or gentle transformations yet so do maximum African counties yet their nonetheless Africans, so their is not any prefer for separation. because of the fact on the tip of the day we are each and all of the comparable.

Whatever the problem is, what does that have to do with becoming racist towards a whole group of people? Im sorry, but your points are totally and utterly invalid towards that statement. Please give me the implications on why you would even dream of being racist towards them with such claims.

Oh God ... not AGAIN !!!

Kelis, I swear. Come to Ethiopia and see for yourself! We are not like that ! We are proud to be ETHIOPIANS. That's it. If you were in another country...wouldn't you be proud to be called an American? Or would you like to be labled as 'black'? Be honest with yourself !!! OK?

Cheers !!

Because who in their right mind would honestly want anyone to know they're from Africa? That would be embarrassing.
