there's still mail, but it isn't being delivered. It is still being processed and separated but it will not be delivered until tomorrow. You can expect 2-3 days of mail on tuesday though. Just because mail isn't delivered doesn't mean it just sits there the whole weekend. There are mail clerks and mail handlers that work 24 hours a day to help you get your mail as soon as possible.

No, the Postal Service observes this holiday. Most banks are closed as well as schools. Hope your important document arrives tomorrow.

There's mail EVERY day! ;)
Sometimes, though, it is not delivered because of national holidays (of course, this assumes that you are living in the US!).
