I can't image why anyone would want to do that. If you think that you would save money WRONG! It would COST you so much more in the long run. Oil gets very yucky as it ages. Oil gets dirty which makes dirt flow through your motor which causes motor damage. It is very unlikely that you could go a hundred thousand miles without checking the oil or adding to it. The dirt would cause the motor to leak and it you didn't add oil to it after it starts to leak...eventually most or all of the oil will leak out which will then ruin the motor so what have you saved. Foolish person, oil NEEDS to be changed for the safety and well being of the motor and for your own protection of investment.

I doubt it. If you did it would be on its last throes by the time it hit 100000. Top enemies of oil are cold starts, water contamination, fuel contamination and shear. If you could reduce or prevent those affecting the oil then maybe.
If I was going for it I would use the biggest filter I could find and a synthetic straight weight oil and drive it at 50 - 60MPH on highways and at 24 hour stints or maybe even longer stints. I think the key is not too many cold starts and not too high RPMs or loading on the bearings.
Oh and the engine will at some point burn enough oil to require top ups - are top ups allowed?

I guess it would be. I don't advise it though. You should really change it every 3,000 miles. This keeps the car running better plus you can be sure you have enough oil.

I had a friend who did that to his Toyota. It died a fiery death at about 100,001 miles though. (also I don't know if he actually never added oil or just never changed it but the car caught fire on the freeway while he was driving).

The BIG question is will the car go 100,001 miles without an oil change??

About a year ago, they were advertising a car that would not need servicing for 100,000 miles. Sorry, I don't remember the make or model.

doubt it would make it that long as once the oil gets like sludge it would no longer circulate through the engine and the engine would be getting no lubrication and seize up

You would probably burn something up before you got to 100,000 miles!

yes, that is fully possible. It would be good to change the filter and add more oil, but the oil will not break down and you do not have to change it.
