D, Vacuum. Sound waves need a medium to travel through, and there is no medium of transmission in a vacuum.

I think the answer is vacuum also.......there was the old tag line in the "Alien" series of films...."In space no one can hear you scream".
Sound needs something to vibrate against in order to be "heard", obviously there is nothing in a vacuum

the answer is a vacuum. a vacuum has no molecules or pressure inside. sound is generated by waves separating molecules therefore sound cannot exist inside a vacuum.
