I have an Excel document that contains account numbers and I'd like them to visually line up so that differences stand out. I'm looking for a font that equally spaces characters so that "1003110" lines up character for character with "4559877". Because of the number 1 in the first string, the first string appears visually "shorter" than the second.
Are there any fonts that are native/standard to Windows which provide equal alignment to all characters, regardless of how much space they really need (that is, where a "1" takes up the same screen space as a "0" or a "5")?

Things have changed a wee bit. Since we no longer rely on typewriters that gave us the option of 10 or 12, 11 has become the more acceptable. Times New Roman is giving way to Arial (the font type used here at Y/A) because, as a sans-serif, it is much more easily readable. Paragraph spacing depends on what you are doing, and who you are doing it for. For letters, single spacing or 1-1/2 spacing. For reports, manuscripts, etc., double spacing.
