I have been looking, one claimed that it is thicker, so can provide better seal and also increase compression pressure. Is it true?

False! Thicker head-gaskets increase cylinder head volume in cubic centimeters. It spaces the head further away from the block deck surfaces and pistons. Mr Gasket and Fel-Pro and standard Chevrolet parts make very good head gaskets.

No, think about it. If you have a claim of a thicker gasket that seals better and gives better compression that doesn't make any sense. You can have one, but not the other. A thinner gasket will give a slightly better compression ratio as it is taking up less volume which increases pressure slightly.

No. A thicker gasket will do the opposite. It will have reduce the compression, but it will be slight.

The trick after a over haul or replacing the head gaskets, it to start and run the motor for a couple of minutes before putting in the antifreeze. This will help seal them tight, where you might get a small amount of coolant in the wrong places.

good luck

nah just go with what works, a correct gasket and coat both sides with indian head, gasket shellac. I do this on all gaskets when putting on new, bikes, mower engines, autos... never had a leak yet but also re torqued everything once as well..
