why is it that questions like "how many answers can I get in the next 10 minutes" get like 30 answers and the poor people on here who really need advice only get like 2-6 answers? And then on other questions that really need serious answers people put down things that are mean and/or stupid.

Maybe it's because frivolous questions are easier to answer; easier translates to "faster" because not as much thought is required. I think sometimes we all feel the weight of the question being asked, and we want to "get it right" because we can sense what's at stake for the person asking. If we don't think we can do any good, we oftentimes pass on answering altogether....that's not really a bad thing, because I'd would rather be silent on an issue than to inadvertently make matters worse. Maybe other people feel much the same way. Good observation and question.
