why do people do this?

why is it that questions like "how many answers can I get in the next 10 minutes" get like 30 answers and the poor people on here who really need advice only get like 2-6 answers? And then on other questions that really need serious answers people put down things that are mean and/or stupid.

It boils down to the fact that some take this serious and some don't. For those of use that take it serious we have no choice but to just cope with it. In time people will loss interesting on that level and move on to the next thrill, leaving the rest of us to our business. They had a good community guildline blog on this very thing, worth looking at!
