Many movies have had a strong effect on me.
The scariest movie I ever saw was Crow Haven Farm, with Hope Lange, which will tell you how old I am and the movie as well. I looked for witches behind the shower curtain at 2 a.m. for the next 8 years.
I was also moved by Jane Austen's book and A&E's version of Persuasion. Waiting 8.5 years for the one person that you love is something I don't think that I would have the fortitude and discipline to do.
I want the person who loves me, to love me like that.

When I was a kid, probably about 8, I saw Planet of the Apes (Heston). My Dad dropped my two brothers and me off at a theater in Kannapolis, NC as it was the only place around with a/c. We watched it 4 times that day. From the front row, middle, back and balcony. It blew my mind. I discovered there was more to Sci-Fi than flying saucers.

Long ago (~1972) I was in school to be a policeman when I saw "The New Centurians" starring Stacy Keach and George C. Scott. The movie was based on Joe Wambaugh's novel of the same name. Not to spoil the film, but when I was done, I changed my major to Liberal Arts! It really made me think about the "downside" of policework!

I don't know about any film changing my view of life, but the film that had the biggest impact on me was Star Wars. I was 7 when I saw the first film, and it had a huge impact on me.

Pay It Forward
The premise of the movie was to plant a seed of compassion in the mind of another fellow human being by bringing them a great service in their time of need. The giver of this great service, or gift, suggested that they thank them by just "paying it forward" by helping someone else when they see an opportunity.
Paying it forward is the way to pay back for the great service in your time of need that another stranger gave to you previously.
This is also called being Christ-like.

Probably Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds". It may be a strange choice, but i was about 8 the first time I saw it and it made me be very aware of nature, what could happen anytime.

the Notebook
This made me realise that true love really does last forever and when a relationship is meant to be it'll happen no matter what. it also showed me that when you are in love you will do literally ANYTHING to show the other person you are always there for them.
