Do we really have the right to accuse the McCann's of killing their daughter, when we supposedly live in a modern democracy that believes in the presumption of innocence?

The law is innocent until proven guilty. And the media is obliged to use the term "alleged" and "presumed". But people are not obliged it discount what they see or know. If you see someone commit a murder are you going to insist they are innocent because they have not been tried. OJ was found not guilty of murder by a criminal jury but guilty by a civil jury. How do we refer to him.

They are innocent until proven guilty, however this doesn't stop people speculating/gossiping.
