And I don't mean MCR or AFI or any other commercial bands owned by record companies. I want REAL punk. Not Avril Lavigne. And no emo. I cannot stress it enough. She is not punk, MCR is emo and AFI...oh God, do I have to say anything about them?

And by the way: to all the non-thinking people of the modern generation, I want punk music: not some cheap skirt sold with pre-inserted safety pins that don't open.

Here we go: original punk. Nice work on whoever listed those bands. Fall Out Boy? Good Charlotte? REALLY?

Hey, I was just making a statement. We're all entitled to our own opinions. I for one believe that all these new bands who claim to be so "rebellious" and "heavy", but are just churned out by record companies in "sensationalism", or just making easy to grab crud to make little kids buy their God-forsaken CDs. And then what do you have for the next album? Just bland pop stuff that shouldn't even be considered music. But, since the simple audience likes it, put it on Radio Disney. It's a way to make money, but it doesn't work in terms of real music.

Do I really think MCR is punk? No. After listening to half of their songs on YouTube, I can tell you that they're probably the farthest away from punk you can get. Everybody in the "punk" mainstream are just a bunch of posers who get popular with the simple minded.

I agree with the Clash and Patti Smith.
The Sex Pistols were cool, but didn't put out much.
Public Image Ltd. PIL was a good follow up of the Pistols.
Husker Du was pretty cool.
Try Television if you can find the Marquee Moon disk.

Flogging Molly is good. They're like Irish-punk. and the Johnstones are good, but I think they're a little more Ska then punk... but their music would be hard to get unless you live in southern ontairo.
