have way too much time on our hands?

What does this say about our dedication to jobs and other responsibilites? Repubs often says Dems don't work, but are they working when wasting time on Y/A? Why do we all have so much time to waste? What more positive things could we all be doing with our time?

I'm not gonna get all defensive over this question. I think it actually may have some merit. I drive a truck, and am on the road more time than home. I don't have a lap-top, so I can't be here unless I'm home. In any case, I too have often wondered how the "Top Contributors" have enough time to crank up those incredible scores.

Anyhow,..I really enjoy participating, especially when there are cogent, interesting questions, that aren't just a bunch of empty rhetoric, posted to inflame one side or 'tuther.
One more positive thing we could be doing with our time, is registering voters!

I know what I stand for and what it means. I'm not so sure about the Dem party though. No one has ever actually told me what the Democratic party's mission statement would be. Good Question!

While I'm answering these silly questions, I've calculated sales/inventory forecast for North America & Canada, scheduled production in Mexico, and built a database program to fill the request of the day. It keeps me from losing my job by allowing me to take my sarcasm out on you people.

Really, it isn't so much about working, or not...it's about self sufficiency. For example put together a deal in a short time that rakes in a pile of money.
If you can provide for yourself and your family, without reliance on government or charity.... by all means, share your wisdom with others

I've worked since I was thirteen, I'm 60 now and not working anymore. I wish I didn't have so much time to waste.

I'm the boss, I answer in between tasks. It's my way of fighting to be heard (even on here) while continuing my day to day life. Which is why I will probably never be a top contributor lol...not willing to give that much of my precious time to yahoo!

Actually, I was smart enough to get a job with a company that doesn't really give a damn if I do some websurfing. As long as my work is done on time and meets or exceeds standards, then they could care less how much time I spend in my cubicle on Yahoo! Answers. If your employer isn't like that, then it sucks to be you.

Good point! and for all the answers you have received I would say YES!
Cons blame libs for their lack of education, closed mind, blah, blah, blah, and I could read an educated answer so far. Is this the kind of culture we are promoting.../are these our values?

I'm independent I guess but I can see your point.

I have stuff I could be doing instead of this. You're right. I am going back to work. Have a nice day, all.

Happy Columbus Day! It is a federally recognized holiday.

Ask tomorrow and I will tell you I am a grown up.
