Bauer, CCM, Graf and Easton are all good quality skates. I have never heard of Kon. Position should not be your primary decision with the skates you wear, fit and skating style should be the deciding factors. CCM skates will put you up on your toes a bit more than the other brands and they generally fit a wider foot better. The four brands listed all offer excellent performance if fitted properly.

It's all on personal preference and the shape of your foot to be honest.
I bought new skates several months ago, and I tried one a lot of pairs ranging from CCM's to Vapour's. The skate that fit me the best was Graf. They fit like socks and I've never gotten any blisters or uncomfort from them, even after my first hard skate.
But like I said before, it really depends. There's not one that's necessarily 'better' than the other; it's all about how your foot fits in the boot and how comfortable you are.
However, some skates vary. I don't really know too much specifically, but I do know that Graf's seem to sit the skater up in the heel a bit, causing them to be a tad forward in their stance. This is supposed to serve as more leverage when striding.

None of that is really true. and nobody ever skates with a backwards lie, it's just not done. neutral perhaps.... besides, that's determined by whoever shapes the blade for your skates- you can have somebody do that if you want, either way with either brand.
CCM is a good skate, but they fit differently now, the tacks had a very different fit then the current vectors.
Easton fits like the old CCM tacks, good skate, very light. that's what I use.
Bauer fits like the new CCMs- high arch and narrow.
The biggest difference though is Fit. all of the companies make a very good skate, and all of the companies make them in different levels for different levels of play and price.
I don't know about Graf, but they're supposed to be a good skate htat fits people well.

I think the best skate on the market now a days are Bauer. But it all depends on what kind of a player you are. If your a high level player and play alot and dont mind having skates for only one season go with Bauer, there good but dont last that long. Graf skates are the most reliable as they rarely break. CCM's use to be on top but now they have fallen behind. Easton makes nice skates, composite, however they are hard to break in. Now with your concern on which is best on position it doest not matter. Its all about how you rock your blade. When you buy your skates ask the sharpener to rock it for a forward or defensemen. Pretty much it adjusts whether your on your toes (foward) or heel (defense.)

Yeah CCM skates are good and should last 3 to 4 months as long as you get the right size and your foot isn't growing rapidly. Hockey skates usually run 1.5 to 2 sizes smaller than regular shoes.

It's all based on your foot type, skating style and personal preference. Really, when you buy skates it isn't based on if you are a forward or a defensemen. Normally companies make two types of skates now, one for a player with quick short strides (Bauer Vapor, CCM Vector, Mission AG) and one for players with long powerful strides (Bauer Supreme, RBK, Mission XP). If the player your buying for has a wider foot go with CCM/RBK or Easton if they have a narrower foot go with Bauer, Graf or Mission.

Back in my day before messing up my knee. I lived and died by CCM skates. I can't help you out as far as forward or defense which skates to buy because I was goalie. But i tried Bauer goalie skates and were all right but thought CCM's were more comfortable and founf them easier to break in.

In my opinion RBK and CCM make the best skates. If I had to choose between them I'd say CCM. CCM makes the most comfortable ones.

I wear CCM mainly because they make a wider boot. Bauer's tend to be on the narrow side. Graf also makes a wider boot as well..their nice skates..but pricier...

"Bauer was always predominantly for defensive players"
Never knew that, nor did Bobby Hull, Phil Esposito, Guy Lafleur, Wayne Gretzky, Denis Savard, and a host of other high scoring forwards who wore Bauer (especially during the Black Panther era)
Note: I wore Daoust skates for 30 years, as did Peter and Anton Stastny
