Your cruise company should have provided you with a dress code. Suggest your call your tour operator and find out.

Don't do the casual look. I was on a cruise this past new years, a couple of guys tried to do the formal thing and weren't allowed in the banquet. But I've heard of some places providing clothes if you don't have what they require. Give 'em a call to find out.

"no sneakers, tshirts and jeans....." mean just that it does not mean formal. But call them and confirm it.

Ware a dinner jacket and a tie, you can always take it out after noticing what the crowd is up to.

Or.

Carry a Jacket on your hand with a tie in the pocket. Put it on if the occasion demands.

you should match with the guests there, in many countries it must be formal like in UK but if you are germany then casuals, so just check it out that what local people wears or tell us here that in which country and which city you need to go to dinner
