Am I the only person who thinks caculators and telephones should have the same numerical display? I mean the numerical display on the phone is the same like on any TV remote control, so whay can't calculators be set up in the same fashion?

Because calculators are made by different companies, HP, Texas Instruments, etc.

Someday they will make a single gadget that serves both purposes and you won't have to wonder any more.

Don't think too much if you're not used to it.

because calculators must have been invented in Australia - Everything is backwards there.
