The problem is the "user friendly" part of the program. (beyond user frinedly is user obnoxioius)

As long as its a format that iTunes considers one its formats then you are likely to have that problem. You might try putting them in a hidden directory. Or convert them all to another format that you can still easily use but isnt one that iTunes claims
