Answer: Wow, I'm as open minded as the next guy but...
While I enjoyed the rant, even you must now admit that it did not make even one valid point.

You lack understanding as to how the violation process works. You get a violation when somebody reports you. There is nobody at Yahoo looking over the answer to see if it's actually in violation of the guidelines. Once you are reported, it's an automatic, computer generated process.
Having said this, if you look at your answer and imagine yourself to be a proud Puerto Rican, I'm sure you can see how you might have taken a little offense to the answer.
The bottom line is that anybody can get a violation just because they ticked someone else off. The report doesn't even have to be true or have merit; you'll get a violation anyway.
The best advice I can give you is don't take it personally, there's nothing personal about it. A violation is nothing more than a notice that someone else wasn't happy with your answer.
Isn't it ironic how a site that's goal is to promote communication totally ignores us, or worse yet sends us computer-generated tripe in response to violation queries?

You probably pissed of a couple of Puerto Ricans
I got a violation for agreeing with the asker, she called abortion murder and so did I.
Stupid isn't it..

It's the "uncivilized people" and "bananaland" comments that were considered defamation. I get violations often. I win some appeals and lose some. One appeal was answered by telling me it was none of my business why I got the notice.

I get a violation once or twice a week for less. When I get my notice I usually e-mail back, "Tell me which community standard I violated." Never get an answer. It's usually just someone that doesn't agree with your answer, not what you wrote, that reports you.

Sadly, we live in a time where simply disagreeing with someone is grounds for being harsh and punitive. While I think your answer was extremely naive and silly, there was nothing in it that should have been grounds for a violation.

I would guess that it's for the sentence "i give you credit for trying."
This may be construed by some uneducated folks as a personal communication, which is not allowed and censored by Yahoo.

Yes, personal opinion is allowed but not when your "personal opinion" means insulting others. You deserve it.
